On a trip across the Canadian border, we were asked three questions.
  • "Who are you?"
  • "Where are you going?"
  • "What are you taking with you?"
It struck me that they were more significant than the guard realized...

Who am I?
Who am I?
It seems like most people grapple with that question in some form at some point in life. We can answer according to occupation, name, family relationship or e-mail address.

We are discovering that, as the Bible teaches, we are children of the creator God and his son, Jesus Christ. We've taken seriously the teaching of the Bible that "our own completeness is only found in him who is the power over all powers and authority over all authorities."

Nobody understands the workings of this Web site like its creators. No one understands the workings of our hearts and minds like our Creator. Jesus helps us understand better who we are in relation to our Creator and his creation.

Where am I going?
Where am I going?I found myself asking at one point in my life, "Where am I going? Am I directing my steps, or are my circumstances directing me?"

We are confident that we can be led through the excitements, challenges and difficulties of life by our friend and guide, Jesus Christ. The Bible encourages us to "trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don't lean on your own understanding. In everything, acknowledge him, and he will direct your path."

That's pretty amazing--a God who wants to be involved in leading and directing us through the webs of life. Where am I going? Wherever Jesus leads me.

What am I taking with me?
What am I taking with me?
We seem to be collectors by nature. We accumulate wealth, possessions and gadgets to keep us entertained.

In the Bible, Jesus speaks of putting away eternal treasure--that is, investing in things that will exist forever. First, he speaks of a relationship with himself. The love that is expressed in that relationship can cut through time and space.

Because of his love, Jesus died so that we could live in that love for all of eternity, the Bible tells us.

I may not be able to take any physical or material treasure with me when I die, but the relationship I enjoy with Jesus Christ will last forever.

Begin a relationship with Jesus...
You can have a relationship with Jesus Christ. To do so, simply present yourself to God as a sinner. The Bible says, "All of us have sinned, and fall short of God's standard of perfection."

Believe that Christ died for you.

Receive his gift of salvation.

Now follow him.

If you have done this with sincerity of heart, you have begun a relationship with God. Begin reading in the Bible with the book of the Gospel of John. Tell someone of your decision. Find a church that teaches from the Bible what it means to be a follower of Jesus. Please let us know of your decision, and we will have folks praying for you.

Who is Jesus? He is now your savior and friend.
